Curriculum

 Great importance is placed on listening and speaking skills, and on preparing students to become skilled readers, writers and translators, in accordance with Ministry of Education regulations. The curriculum reflects the needs of industry, expertise of our faculty and the quality of our resources, and has been prepared with reference to curricula at other domestic and international institutes. It includes a wide range of courses covering three core domains: foreign languages and humanities; business administration; and computer information technology.

1. Foreign Language: these include the core professional courses designed to refine the students’ command of the language. They cover Listening and speaking Practice; English Composition; English-Chinese Translation; Guided Business English for Journalism.

2. Humanities: these include courses which cultivate students; knowledge of the liberal arts and lay the foundation for life-long learning. They cover Selected Readings of English Literature; An Introduction to Western Literature; An Introduction to Linguistics; and Language and Culture, among others.

3. Business Administration: these courses prepare students for employment after graduation on fields which will promote the country’s economic development. They cover English for Tourism; International Trade; Business Correspondence; Business English, Business Negotiation Briefing Skill.

4. Information Technology: these courses train students in the use of computer-base business information systems. They cover Software Applications: Database Management: Internet Information Applications; and Computer-Assisted Teaching, among others.
